The Clark County Executive Horse Council (CCEHC) sponsors many fine programs, and one of them is the Adopt-a-Horse Program. The CCEHC adoption program was created to accommodate local horses that are in dire need and have been relinquished to Clark County Animal Control. The program takes the horses from these situations and gives them the medical attention they need as well as the groundwork, socialization, and training they need to be adoptable. Once the horses are sound, the program works it’s hardest to find each and every horse their perfect owner to provide them with a second chance in a forever home.
We have a network of homes throughout Clark County that will foster a horse or horses for a temporary period of time until a suitable permanent home can be found for the horse. The foster caregiver provides scheduled meals, turnout, grooming, blanketing, meeting veterinarian and farrier at scheduled appointment times, and general well care. The care items would include feed, hoof trims, teeth floating, deworming, veterinary attention, vaccinations, post castration care, blankets, halters and lead ropes. We are always in need of new foster homes. If you are interested please contact us to find out more about it!
